Based in New York, YoungJi Cho is a designer working across womenswear and menswear, with a focus on uniform-inspired garments. She studied menswear design at Parsons School of Design, and her work draws from vintage military and workwear. Her approach centers on translating these references into practical, wearable pieces, with attention to construction, proportion, and how garments are used over time, with a subtle sense of charm. She has worked closely with the team at Engineered Garments, contributing across the development of seasonal collections and supporting the process from development through production. Through this experience, she has gained hands-on involvement in garment construction, fabrication, and production workflows. Her work is shaped by an interest in how garments are worn and adjusted, how materials behave through repeated use, and how subtle details can influence both function and character, leaving room for playfulness.
